Ark Water Vein Pipe

Can i put an intake pipe directly on a water vein.

Water is one of primary mechanics in se and we cant use water wells properly. Or does a well have to be on the vein first. Doing so will slowly fill up the well with water. Usage edit edit source.

Notes edit edit source the stone irrigation pipe intake is treated as a wooden structure and can not be damaged by hands stone weapons or non explosive ranged attacks.
